WAYLAND — The holiday festival brings joy and easy shopping to the community.

Wayland Rotary Club puts together the Christmas in Wayland every year to bring together the community for the season. The event is Dec. 5 from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with activities for the entire family.

Jean McMillan, Wayland Rotary Club member said there is a great assortment of vendors for the arts and crafts at the legion and historical society this year.

"As usual we have a good assortment of vendors who will be setting up at the American Legion and Wayland Historical Society this year. Cory Mark will be offering wagon rides between 4:30 and 7 p.m. on North Main Street," she said. "The Cohocton Assembly of God has agreed to provide a Living Nativity on the corner of Five Star Bank again. The Wayland Cohocton Central School Elementary Chorus will be singing at the society, and making their way up the street for the 6 p.m. Christmas Tree lighting ceremony with Santa at Quinlan's."

The Vincent House will be providing the Chicken Dinners again at the Five Star Bank.

Santa Claus will be arriving at the American Legion at 5 p.m. to take photos with children.

"This year all the proceeds will go to Wayland Cohocton Central School's Coats For Kids Program. The funds for the program are low this year and winter is upon us," McMillan said.
